The Girls' Shared Room Reveal

Updated: Apr 22

I can not believe I'm writing this post less than a year after revealing Josie's room. The girl's rooms have definitely been the most made over rooms in the house.

Shortly after revealing Josie's room, she started refusing to sleep in her room. I mean this girl took every article of clothing out of her dresser and threw it on the ground in protest. But she would sleep in her sister's room just fine. It was then that we realized they would need to share a room, so, we purchased bunk beds and turned her room into the playroom. Well we quickly regretted moving the playroom downstairs because: it was smaller, everyday I had to see the mess every single day, and for some reason they felt like they had to bring the toys into the living room ...it was just all around messier.

So we decided to move the playroom back upstairs and make the spare bedroom a workout room. While doing so, we also moved the girls into the adjacent room because it had the bigger closet that would fit their dresser since now they were also protesting bunk beds....gotta love parenthood!

And, me being me, I couldn't simply move their stuff into the room, I had to completely make it over. Because I'm low-maintenance like that.

And here we are...5 room swaps later with a dreamy shared girls bedroom reveal.

(If any links are missing below, it's most likely because it was a Home Goods find, but feel free to ask!)

Rug // Beds // Pendant Light (with this attachment) // Bedskirts

This wallpaper is from Wall Blush and is seriously "chefs kiss" , "icing on the cake", whatever cliche saying you want to use....this is it! This was the original Inso for the room. As soon as I saw it, I knew exactly which vibe I wanted for this space which was girly but vintage aka cottage style.

The hard part was finding the right paint color and you know the struggle if you follow me on Instagram. I left samples on the wall for WEEKS just staring at them day after day. Jeremy and I decided on an entirely different color and when I went to the hardware store to pick it up, I changed my mind last minute to this one and I'm so so happy with it! I didn't want it to be too little girl pink because that wasn't the vibe for this space and this one is the perfect muted pink to pull everything together.

Paint Color: Sashay Sand by Sherwin Williams

I still have plans to makeover the bookshelf and spice it up a bit so stay tuned for that makeover! I did change the knobs for these.

Most of the decor on the bookshelf is either from Ikea or Homegoods! The laundry basket and throw blanket are from Home Goods.

Overall, I am so happy with how this space come together! It's the perfect mix of girly, vintage, and whimsical. I don't know why, but it reminds me of something you would see in Goldilocks and the Three Bears. Haha.

What do you all think?!

I love it. The paint color with the wallpaper is really beautiful. I am using as inspiration for my daughter's room. Do you have a tutorial on the board and batten wall. I think that is what it is called on the lower portion of the wall. I am not sure. I am not good at DIY projects or construction type home renovation but I love to decorate. Just discovered your site and I love your style!

Hi! We did picture moulding in our bedroom and i have a tutorial from that one a few posts back! It’s the same process, we just did a half wall in the girls room and then added a decorative trim to the top
